Halo was a trailblazer. The shooter arrived on Microsoft's debut games console in late 2001 and it knocked players over with its sense of scale. Many remember looking up at that Ring and experiencing a sense of awe, or that go-anywhere feeling when driving around in the Warthog.
Now someone has recreated the iconic final level of Halo: Combat Evolved in the newest entry in the series Halo Infinite (via Kotaku). It was made in the game's advanced level creator Forge and there's a video showing a run of this brilliant recreation on YouTube.

It looks to be a pretty great recreation of the tenth and final level in Halo: Combat Evolved, which is known as The Maw. In this last section players had to escape the UNSC Pillar of Autumn space vessel before it exploded with Master Chief making his getaway in the Warthog.

The build comes courtesy of KingNothing20055 and like the original features twisting turns and dramatic jumps and tracks the entire run including the part where you skip out of the Warthog and high tail it to the spaceship parked at the end of the vessel's hangar. As seen in the above video multiple players can get into the level at the same time, which adds to the frenetic action, although it could do with more enemies running around and shooting things up.
The custom remake supports multiplayer, meaning you and your friends could have multiple games to see who can make it to the end, racing each other to see who gets to the hangar first. It could almost be Twisted Metal Black, but Halo. Those wanting to give The Maw recreation a go can find the custom level on the official Halo Waypoint site here.
Meanwhile, this run through the Pillar of Autumn might not actually be physically possible. Previously, some clever clogs worked out that the Warthog run, which goes on for quite a while, simply wouldn't fit into the ship and that the run actually would run to more than twice the length of the entire ship. But who cares! It's an iconic level and a pretty fun one at that.
