The developer behind the massively popular roleplaying game Genshin Impact, HoYoverse, recently announced the next pair of playable characters that will be added when Update 3.5 launches. According to the company, fans of the franchise will be able to step into the shoes of Dehya and Mika.
HoYoverse revealed earlier today on Twitter that Dehya would be making an appearance as a playable character in Update 3.5, publishing some artwork along with a few key details in the process. Dehya is of course a Pyro-wielder, described quite tersely in the tweet as “Flame-Mane, Unfettered Desert Mercenary, Pyro, Mantichora.”

Similar to Dehya, Mika is going to be arriving for the first time as a playable character in Genshin Impact when HoYoverse releases this highly anticipated update. Mika was described by the company on the same social media platform as “Coordinates of Clear Frost, Front-Line Land Surveyor of the Knights of Favonius, Cryo, Palumbus.” In perfect contrast to the Pyro-wielder Dehya, the character is of course known for being a Cryo-user.

The community has naturally been receptive to the announcement, speculators diving into all of the details given for each character, notably the artwork published by HoYoverse. Several different users on Twitter have been posting rather amusing memes in response to the news.
Players will have to wait a while to actually get into the game as either Dehya or Mika, there still being quite some time to go until Update 3.5 is released for Genshin Impact, HoYoverse having previously scheduled the rollout for March 1, 2023. Rumors on the other hand have been making the rounds to the effect that a beta release could be going live as early as this week, namely January 18. In other words, players should keep their eyes open, because there could be more details dropping at some point in the very near future.
