Nanako Dojima is your protagonist’s foster-sister in Persona 4 Golden when he arrives for his year with his uncle in Inaba, and it’s no wonder why she’s such a fan favorite – she’s absolutely adorable. Most of your social link with this bubbly little lady centers around the two of you growing closer as siblings, and it comes to be that Nanako needs you just as much as you need her.

But with specific time frames on her availability occasionally making befriending her a challenge, we went through and laid out exactly how you can befriend Nanako Dojima in Persona 4 Golden

Nanako's Social Link, Explained
Nanako’s social link begins automatically on 5/3. After this point, you can find her at the Dojima residence every evening, making her one of the easier social links to locate. However, she's very particular about when she'll spend time with you.
You can’t spend time with Nanako until you’re finished with your current dungeon, or if you’re between them in the story. Additionally, you’re only able to increase Nanako’s social link on the evenings when Dojima isn’t home.
However, it’s worth noting early that befriending Nanako requires you to max your Expression skill.
You cannot begin Rank 4 with Nanako until you have Rank 3 Expression, while you need to reach Rank 5 Expression to begin her Rank 6 scene.
This will take some doing, so plan accordingly.

How To Rank Up Nanako's Social Link
You’re probably no stranger to the idea by the time you begin spending time with Nanako, but you earn bonus affinity with your social links simply by having a Persona that matches their arcana in your party when you spend time together.
Nanako fills the role of Persona 4 Golden’s Justice arcana, so hit the Velvet Room before you spend your evenings in with her to optimize your point-earning potential.
