Ubisoft developers who were working on the cancelled multiplayer title Project Q have reportedly been moved over to assist with development on Assassin's Creed Mirage.
Last week, Ubisoft announced that it was delaying Skull & Bones for the sixth time and cancelling three unannounced projects in a bid to cut back on spending and save some money, which has been a persistent theme for tech companies over the past few weeks. Although two of the cancelled projects remain unknown, one of them appears to be Project Q, the multiplayer arena game that Ubisoft semi-announced last year.

According to Kotaku reporter Ethan Gach, it appears that the development teams who had been working on Project Q have since been moved to work on Assassin's Creed Mirage. Gach also says that early feedback for Project Q had been quite positive, with the general outlook on it being that it was a "promising project".

Gach said, "Ubisoft didn't respond to multiple requests for comment about Q's cancellation yesterday, but I hear some felt it was a very promising project. The teams been reallocated to Assassin's Creed Mirage from what I understand".
Ubisoft didn't respond to Gach's requests for comments on the cancellation of Project Q, although they did have this to say to VGC about the matter, "We can confirm we will no longer support the development of Project Q in order to focus on priority projects, to which our teams are being reallocated".
Considering Assassin's Creed Mirage is likely to be the next big game from Ubisoft in 2023, this statement from the studio would match up with the rumours that the development teams from Project Q have been moved over to Mirage, as that's surely the biggest "priority project" for it right now.
