CD Projekt Red has confirmed that it has been quietly working on a proper patch that will address all the issues players have been experiencing in The Witcher 3's next-gen update. There is no exact date for this patch yet; however, the studio has assured that it's in "the final stages" now.
It has been over a month since The Witcher 3 got its free next-gen update that brought some graphics enhancements on PC and consoles, as well as new content inspired by the Netflix TV series. Predictably, the update also added a bunch of new visual bugs and technical issues across all platforms, which has led many players to put off the game for a while. Despite the notable requests to release the patch for the next-gen edition on socials and CDPR's forums, after listing some of the most common issues, the devs remained silent for over a month. The good news, they seem to have been busy.

Global community director at CDPR Marcin Momot broke the silence on Twitter, revealing that the studio indeed has been "quietly working on this update," and it looks like the team is "at the final stages" now. Sadly, Momot did not announce when this much-needed patch would be available to the public, but assured that it "shouldn't be long until it comes out."
The most common bugs in The Witcher 3 next-gen update as reported by the community are frequent crashes in ray tracing mode, glitching and underloaded NPC textures, especially during the cutscenes, poor performance overall, and even broken quests that prevent from progressing further.
Hopefully, the upcoming patch will resolve all of those problems, so that players can finally enjoy the game uninterrupted. It is unknown, though, why CDPR didn't acknowledge all the issues of The Witcher 3 next-gen update earlier, choosing to ignore the questions of many fans on socials for so long.
