Maybe the character with the most duality in her personality, Sayoko Uehara is a nurse you’ll meet during your playthrough of Persona 4 Golden. She works at the hospital in Inaba and you’re introduced to her through your janitorial work there. What begins as casual flirting turns into Yu helping Sayoko find her real dreams and goals for her life.

Yu can help her with the overwhelming loneliness she feels in a job where patients either heal and leave, or pass away. For help making an impact on P4G’s Sayoko, a lady who just needs a friend, we’ve got you covered down below.

This guide contains slight spoilers for Persona 4 Golden.

How To Unlock Sayoko's Social Link

persona 4 golden beginning sayoko's social link

As with the other social links that begin as a result of Yu’s part-time work, Sayoko becomes available as early as 5/25 when you unlock the Bulletin Board. After this, you’re able to accept jobs around Inaba that reward you with pay and, occasionally, social opportunities.

And since she’s a nurse, you’ll find Sayoko at the hospital. Accept the posting for a Hospital Janitor anytime you’d like to go see Sayoko, then board the bus in the Central Shopping District.

However, in order to accept the job as a Hospital Janitor, you’ll need to have at least Rank 3 Diligence. It’s not the highest barrier to entry, but it is something to keep in mind as you’re building skills and spending your free time.

You likely won’t be able to take the job on 5/25 because of this, so be sure to check back after your Diligence has reached a suitable rank.

By the time you meet Sayoko and begin spending time with her, you’ll be no stranger to how affinity works in Persona 4 Golden.

You’ll always earn bonus affinity for having a Persona of the matching arcana in your party when you spend time with your social links!

Sayoko represents the Devil arcana in Persona 4 Golden. Be sure to head to the Velvet Room before work to grab a Devil Persona if you don’t already have one in your party.
