Blizzard has announced that Diablo III’s 28th season will launch on February 25th, featuring a brand new account-wide progression reward system that will completely change the way the game is played.

The theme of the 28th season is “The Ceremony of Sanctification”, where players can offer various materials at the “Sanctum of Binding” to receive a variety of account-wide rewards, allowing players to unlock additional passive skills and legendary potions for their characters throughout the season. These additional passive skills will be unlocked through a talent tree, with each subsequent passive skill requiring players to sacrifice rarer items and materials.

These additional passive skills include the removal of level requirements for items, as well as significant increases in attack power and movement speed. The talent tree also includes some special abilities, such as allowing pets to collect items. When all runes are unlocked, players will receive the “Wings of Terror” wings.

Starting from the 17th season, Diablo III allowed players to collect previous season rewards, and in the 28th season, players will be able to collect rewards from the 16th season. The 28th season will also introduce new seasonal cosmetic rewards, including a mini-Tyrael pet and an Ancient Hunter portrait frame.
