Video game publisher 505 Games is bringing back the mech combat franchise with “Hawken Reborn.” The game is free-to-play and focuses on player-versus-environment (PvE) battles. It launches in early access on Steam on May 17 for around 18 months.
The initial release features six missions, each playable with five different mechs, which players can customize with various parts. There’s also a Patrol mode where players venture into open zones to undertake missions against increasingly difficult enemies for rewards that can be used to enhance and progress their mechs.
The revival of “Hawken” shows the continued interest in mech warfare games, with other upcoming games like FromSoftware’s “Armored Core VI.”
505 Games aims to provide an immersive and dynamic gameplay environment that caters to both veteran and new players. With its free-to-play structure, “Hawken Reborn” offers an exciting world of mechanized warfare that fans of the franchise can enjoy.
